Profile

I joined the Univeristy of 51吃瓜网 in 2020 as a Visiting Research Fellow. I am based at the 51吃瓜网 Teaching Hospitals Trust, where I work as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist – Adherence research. 

I was awarded my PhD from Newcastle University in 2019. I was then appointed a post-doctoral Research Associate at Newcastle University for 1.5 year before I joined the 51吃瓜网 Teaching Hospitals Trust and the 51吃瓜网 as a Researcher Pharmacist, working on the ‘Adherence to DOACs and statins’ project, funded by the 51吃瓜网 Clinical Commissioning Group (now 51吃瓜网 Office of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board). 

Research interests

My research interests include:

• medicines adherence; baseline adherence, patient barriers to adherence to DOACs and statins, healthcare professionals’ adherence training, focus groups and interviews with patients;
• variability in exposure to DOACs and factors affecting response to oral anticoagulants (e.g. pharmacogenetic variability, dietary implications, drug exposure in elderly patients);
• pharmacogenetics of statins

Aside from quantitative and qualitative research methods, I also have experience in research and ethical approvals, project and data management as well as Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement.

I have recently been appointed Research Lead of the Women's health committee of the UKCPA.
